Further Revelations Over Europe's Ambitions
« on: March 08, 2010, 05:10:40 PM »
In addition to my last post on the European tax, there was a further article in Saturday 6th March's Daily Telegraph (see here).

Whilst the Telegraph is well-known as an anti-Europe newspaper, and the assertions in the article may not be imminent, it shows the deep and widening ambitions of those favouring what has been called "the European Project".

The article reveals the desire on the part of many in Europe to set up an EU-wide Director of Public Prosecutions, who would not have to answer to individual governments nor member states, nor to any democratically elected body, but would come under, and have the authority, of the European bureaucratic megastructure.

UK citizens would be unlikely to be affected, providing they remained in the UK, as Britain has an opt-out from this part of the Lisbon Treaty.  However, should a targetted British citizen travel to Europe they would be liable to face trial by the proposed body.  And it is possible, even likely, that if and when this body is set up, it would seek to put in place extradition agreements with other countries.
